Norton take credit despite defeat to Earldson

5:00pm Friday 3rd February 2012

Kings Norton 10 Earlsdon 42

KINGS Norton emerged with no points but plenty of credit against the runaway Midlands Three West (South) leaders.

Unbeaten Earlsdon had won the reverse fixture 59-0 in October and opened the scoring after only five minutes.

They were then gifted three more points from a penalty before scoring their second try.

A third was scored on the stroke of half-time before Kings’ centre Chris Carlin released wing Gareth Johnson to go over.

However, there was still time for the visitors to run in try number four prior to the interval.

Leading 27-5 at the break, Earlsdon wasted little time in adding another try five minutes into the second period.

Kings grabbed their second try of the game when Ken Whitehouse went over following a full-back Louis Stelling break.

The visitors managed one more try before the final whistle.

Kings head to struggling Evesham this Saturday.
